Electronic modules may look identical while containing different software, coding or option support. The label and vehicle configuration matter more than the housing.
Match every identifier
Record the complete manufacturer and supplier numbers, including suffixes. A final letter or revision can represent a meaningful compatibility difference.
Share the VIN and the vehicle options controlled by the module. This gives the specialist context for checking supersessions or alternatives.
Understand programming requirements
Many modules require coding, calibration or security pairing after installation. Confirm the workshop has the necessary equipment before ordering.
Diagnose before replacing
A stored fault code does not always prove the module itself has failed. Power, ground, wiring and communication faults should be considered by a qualified technician.
